Welcome to
our
Western Nevada County Open Studios
Tour, CA Tour! This year, with 87 artists at 56
destinations, you will find a rich and varied selection of talent
that ranges from painting and printmaking, photography, sculpture,
wood, ceramics, jewelry and much, much more. All artists will be
"Normally" open the first weekend, and most will also be open
the second weekend, in October. Both directory and
maps are coded accordingly. Just click on “Artists” and “Maps”.
Our gala
Preview Reception provides a great opportunity for
you to meet the artists, view their artwork, and begin planning your
itinerary. Open Studios’ major sponsor, The Center For The Arts,
hosts the reception on during the first week of, October.
The Tour’s Preview Exhibit will hang in the Center’s gallery during
the first two weeks of October.
You may
begin your Tour at any point on the map. Extraneous streets and
roads have been removed so that you may more easily see Tour
destinations. Although our maps are accurate, you may wish to bring
along a standard road map. Pack your car with friends, take a picnic
or plan a stop at one of our great restaurants, and have a wonderful
time!

Here you
will find a guide to our 87 artists, beginning with those south of
Grass Valley, then moving north, east and west. You’ll notice that
there might be one map number given to more than one artist. This
indicates a shared destination, where more than one artist is
displaying work. Also, do pay attention to the orange or green dot
along side each artist’s map number and name; an orange dot
indicates first weekend only, and a green dot indicates open both
weekends. Maps have corresponding colored, numbered dots.
As you
drive around, you’ll see bright yellow Open Studios signs to guide
your way. Between these signs and written directions in each
artist’s listing, you shouldn’t have difficulty finding your
destinations.
